Bay of Islands Lodge

PIVOT!
Bay of Islands Lodge was formerly known as the Paihia YHA - Owner operator Andy Larsen contacted Blah Blah Marketing in the end of the 2nd year of Covid 19 pandemic - knowing that the YHA were going to be closing their doors and stop operating in the near future.
Through support from the Regional Business Partners Network capability funding programme Blah Blah Marketing had an initial consultation with Andy and Lynne to listen to their ideas for changing the business. We were excited by their ideas and supported them in the the process of their PIVOT with hands on training and guidance to change direction and become a Lodge. We worked with them to ensure their Unique Selling Points were capitalised and marketed efficiently, and within their allocated budget.
WHAM!! Soon into the exercise the YHA itself announced that all hostels were closing imminently, and our timeframes were changed completely! From a 6 month roll out period to 4 weeks!
IMPLEMENTATION
- The relaunch was successful and the Bay of Islands Lodge was operating in its new format.
- Reviews collated and time to work with the product and prepare product to appeal to the specific demographics and target markets that had been defined in the strategy document.
STRATEGY AND CREATION!
Speed was of the essence – The Paihia YHA were having to do a full change to become Bay of Islands Lodge in a matter of weeks.
- Supporting, guidance, and training – working with Andy and Lynne – conceptualising their logo, translating their thoughts and values onto their new website, ensuring that the product was depicted in an easy, clear, and precise way to encourage clients to book – ensuring USP’s (unique selling points) were marketed to encourage their specific demographics.
- Supporting Andy operationally through booking system changes and Facebook/ google Business and new website development – all in a short period of time.
- It was a great moment in time when we met the deadline – a new stylish logo, website and digital platform in place.
