Once we had these tools and all the fantastic products in the Far North we got cracking with a campaign to get the word out there that the Far North have an amazing array of products, accommodation, activities free and paid! , eateries, scenery. The reach of the campaign far exceeded expectations.

One of the key outcomes was to create a promotion that joined the Far North together. The Great Far North Roadie was born. An amazing prize package worth $4990 and is a week-long family adventure in the July school holidays. There were 26 businesses who put into this package, it took a few days to coordinate and develop and we have a waiting list of other businesses who would love to be involved next time!

The page went from ‘go to wo’ in a few short weeks with the launch of The Great far North Roadie campaign (link to the campaign image)  that increased the page likes from a few hundred (local operators) to 5000 + New Zealanders keen to hear about what the Far North have to offer and the opportunity to win the prize 😉 predominantly Facebook organic reach but with our contacts we had Mediaworks, NZME talked about it on their local radio stations, World Travellers and Tourism Industry Aotearoa sent out nationwide electronic newsletters – and the Northern Advocate reported on the amazing collaboration of the 9 Business Associations in the Far North.
